THE IDEA
Balancing graphically bold stone with continuous storage, garden views and side seating.
Black-and-white patterned stone connects the backsplash and island. White cabinets create a calm backdrop; dark display cabinets finish the upper line, and a central opening frames the garden. The long side of the island includes seating close to the work area.

MATERIAL / THE DESIGN
Light and dark veins across the island and backsplash.
Smooth surfaces giving continuity to the joinery.
Warm stools and dark-framed display cabinets.
The stone pattern appears on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. The island connects to the wall without introducing another color.
Three stools occupy one long side of the island. This arrangement brings conversation close to the work area without taking over the kitchen's main front.
Closed cabinets and an upper band of glass-fronted cabinets alternate storage and display. The garden is framed between these surfaces.
