THE IDEA
Tándem brings table tennis into the language of furniture. A smoked-oak surface rests on two travertine portals, divided by a perforated bronze net. Understated ivory lines run across the timber, making the table a gathering point within the home.

Width × depth × height · proposed dimensions
Playing surface height: 76 cm · proposed net: an additional 15 cm
A dark surface with ivory playing lines.
Two portals with rounded rectangular openings.
A perforated net and visually light supports.
The broad surface preserves the continuity of the grain. Its proposed 4 cm edge maintains a horizontal silhouette above the stone supports.
The two portals introduce mass and void. Softened rectangular openings admit light and keep the base from reading as a solid block.
The perforated sheet catches the light without hiding the other side. Bounce, flatness and the removable net system will be explored through prototyping; the proposal is presented as recreational furniture.
