THE IDEA

Stone finds its softer side.

Canto pairs a generous ivory wool cushion with a deep-green marble base. A low arch cuts through the front, creating a shadow between the supports. The piece can sit beside an armchair or stand on its own: a small volume combining texture, visual weight and softness.

Project status
A 2026 design concept. Proposed materials and dimensions; technical development and prototyping are pending.
Role
An exploration of form, materiality, proportion and conceptual representation.
Credits
Concept developed for Sada Hess. AI-generated visualizations and sketches; proportion study prepared for this proposal.

MATERIAL / PROPOSED PALETTE

See it.
Feel it.

90 × 68 × 42 cm

Width × depth × height · proposed dimensions

  • Ivory wool

Bouclé upholstery with a continuous seam.

  • Green marble

Proposed cladding for a hollow base; pale veining.

  • Shadow gap

A thin separation distinguishes the cushion from the base.

01

A surface for resting.

The rounded cushion has a proposed height of 22 cm above the base. Upholstery tension and firmness will be defined through testing.

02

Mass and void.

The lower arch opens the base and forms two rounded supports. Cladding over an internal structure is proposed, with development pending to study weight and stability.

03

A deep accent.

Green marble concentrates color in a single surface. Pale wool catches the light and preserves the calm of the whole.
